FC Barcelona thrashes Real Madrid to win the first trophy of the season

On January 12, Barcelona beat Real Madrid 5-2 to win their 15th Spanish Super Cup. Best sports betting site 1xBet sincerely congratulates the Blaugrana family on this significant victory and wishes to finish the season with a large-scale parade in honor of winning new trophies!

FC Barcelona does not plan to stop there and confidently moves towards new victories with the global bookmaker 1xBet. In the summer of 2024, the partners signed a new five-year contract, and now football fans can expect even more interesting activities, exciting promos, and great opportunities to get closer to their favorite athletes.

The Super Cup triumph is especially important given FC Barcelona’s failures before the tournament. After a good start to the season, the team’s performance began to decline, and Hansi Flick’s squad lost its lead, falling to third place.

However, 1xBet and FC Barcelona share a steely champion’s character, and with the start of 2025, the Blaugranas are back on the winning track. In the Copa del Rey, FC Barcelona thrashed fourth-tier Barbastro 4-0 and then traveled to Saudi Arabia for the Super Cup.

In the semifinal, the Catalan team confidently beat Athletic Bilbao, last year’s Copa del Rey winner. Gavi opened the scoring at the start of the match, and in the second half, Lamine Yamal made it clear who would win. In the other semifinal, Real Madrid thrashed Mallorca (3-0), and in the decisive struggle for the trophy, the Madrid squad had the opportunity to avenge Barcelona for the crushing 0-4 defeat in the autumn El Clasico.

Los Blancos were considered the favorites, and a precise shot by Kylian Mbappe put them ahead at the start of the match. However, FC Barcelona again showed a spectacular and incredibly effective game in attack, scoring 4 unanswered goals before the break – this was done by Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Alejandro Balde. At the beginning of the second half, Raphinha brought the score to an indecent 5-1.

In the 56th minute, FC Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny received a red card, reviving hope in the hearts of Real Madrid fans. Rodrygo eventually scored a goal back from a free kick, but Carlo Ancelotti’s players failed to do more. The match ended with a brilliant triumph for the Blaugranas.
