Corruption Alert – We Did Not Pay Shatta Wale GhC2 million For Any Ambassadorial Task – Exim Bank Deputy CEO To PAC

The Ghana Export and Import Bank has rejected claims of paying GhC2 million to multiple award winning dance hall artiste Shatta Wale during a public accounts committee hearing at parliament today .

During a public accounts committee sitting today September 9 ,2020 , Member of Parliament for Kumbungu Hon.Ras Mubarak at questioned the deputy CEO for the bank Kwame Adu Darkwa whether payments have been made to some members of the creative arts industry including Shata Wale and Agya Koo.

Responding to the question the deputy CEO in charge of finance and Administration Kwame Adu Darkwa denied any payments to the dance hall artist. According to him, a media consultant was engaged to help promote made in Ghana products so the artists could be brand ambassadors to the campaign.

He, vehemently, denied engaging such ambassadors directly or making payments from the accounts of GhExim bank to them.
